Good Night, Bat! Good Morning, Squirrel! by Paul Meisel

Writer's picture: Aimee FuhrmanAimee Fuhrman

G (appropriate for all)

When Bat finds himself homeless right before winter, he knows he must find a new home and quickly. He discovers a squirrel's nest and moves in. But Squirrel is less than thrilled with her new boarder and leaves messages indicating as much for Bat to read when he awakes. Bat, however, due to a variety of reasons, always misinterprets her messages. Thrilled she is so kind and inviting, he writes messages in return, since neither is awake at the same time. But then the truth comes out...can the two resolve their differences?

This cute story of friendship teaches a message of accepting those who are not like we are and encourages open communication and forgiveness toward others' faults. I loved it!
